Our Favorite Flicks of 2011

Bridesmaids (2011 film)

To start off 2012, we wanted to tell you what our favorite films of 2011 were.  Little did we realize how bleak our list would be – look how teeny this post is! 😦 Granted, we sure as hell didn’t see every ’11 release.  Of what we did see, we greatly enjoyed a handful of films, and there were a couple standouts, but this was a lackluster year.  Here are our favorites, in order:

Clearly, Bridesmaids was a game-changer for the male-dominated world of comedy, and I believe it’s one of the funniest films I’ve ever seen.  After several months of marinating on it, I feel that Deathly Hallows wasn’t really all that great, but since it was enjoyable and capped off a decade long love-affair, it wins a spot.

Many others including Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes, Fright Night, and Friends With Benefits are very entertaining, worth every bit of the time it takes to watch them, but weren’t quite good enough to make the favorites list.

Here’s to 2012:  With films like Prometheus, The Hobbit, The Hunger Games, and The Dark Knight Rising coming out, there’s bound to be more to love.  *Fingers crossed* for few (if any) disappointments!

  1. Midnight in Paris was suprisingly good. I really liked Moneyball (but, I’m a huge baseball fan, so that may have something to do with it). 🙂

    Cheers,
